Variety 100% Sauvignon Blanc Viticulture The vineyard where Fernlands Sauvignon Blanc is grown is one of Marlborough’s best. The soil is an ancient riverbed comprised of three unique terraces of free-draining silty loam topsoil. There are 2,500 vines per hectare and all have 2-3 canes adding enhanced flavour concentration to each and every grape bunch.

Vintage The 2013 Marlborough vintage will be remembered for its abundance of sunshine. The warm days and cool nights provided the perfect growing conditions. Cooler evening temperatures slowed the fruit development which further enhanced the aromatic expression, minerality and balance of the wines.

Winemaking Fernlands is produced in a “New Generation” Winery in the heart of Marlborough. We use temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks and carefully select yeast strains chosen for their ability to capture the true essence of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Colour Light straw color with hints of green.

Aroma A true and classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that offers exotic aromas of passionfruit & guava, you’ll also find hints of lime and lemon and possibly a touch of gooseberry.

Palate Bold, vivid flavours that mirror the nose are given life and length on the palate and a hint of acidity and minerality that coats your tongue. Fernlands Sauvignon Blanc 2013 was crafted to be enjoyed when the fruit flavours are at their freshest. 

Food Matching Suited perfectly to Chicken, Turkey and Pork but this Sauvignon Blanc is crying out for seafood. We recommend Sea Bass, Trout, Cod, Catfish, Halibut, Snapper, Mussels, Crab, Lobster, and Clams and don’t forget a generous supply of fresh lemon wedges.
